I would like to shed light on the third topic here onwards because as a writer i believe i should start with a positive viewpoint. ICC cricket world cup comes once in four years which light hopes of each and every cricket fans to dream their favorites to put up a show on this wonderful occasion.
So far it was so amazing. in the group stage there were some great upsets in cricket history.England was beaten by Ireland marking the greatest run chase in World Cup history.It was a great thing because of the huge gap in cricket world between IRL & ENG. However we should admire the courage of the England team that lead them to the quarter finals of the CWC. With a huge humiliation from the start whistle they have reach to the closing stages of the CWC. Every one would agree that all group stage matches played by the England team were blessed with full of enthusiasm and doubt.
On my way i will point a nice result which we should look back that happen recently in CWC. That is the match between ENG Vs WI. England scored 243 runs in their innings. In the followup WI were in trouble till 6 wickets were gone inside 150 mark. But Sarvan and Russel made it 222/6 at one stage. But amazingly they were all out for 225.
Imagine if rain came when WI 222/6 and the rain had last for ever till the end. Then what will happen. Here comes Mr. Duck worth and Luis. What will They say. Since I'm not a expert in Duck-worth and Luis theory i don't know what will they say. But I'm pretty sure if that happens WI will won. I know you also agree with me. So if it happened that way England might already sat on their sofa to watch rest of the countries play for the big Cup.
Now we can understand there is something wrong in this method. The theory may be correct but most theories doesn't perfect at practical applications. here is a great example. A shower could have end a great run for the word cup. Now this is the place where we need to change. Applying Duck worth and Luis theory in cricket games is OK. But important games, do we still apply this theory. That should be re concerned.
History says that Australians were unbeaten in World Cup for 33 matches. According to my  knowledge Australia defeated Sri Lanka in 2003 world cup semi final via Duck worth and Luis. In 2007 last world cup they again defeated Sri Lanka in same manner..... not in group stage,super 8,quarter finals or semi finals, It is the all important FINAL that SL lost because of Duck worth and Luis.
So it is very clear that applying Duck worth and Luis in Important matches is not a good thing. it cannot reflect the correct result at all. One moment can change the whole game. So we need to change this system at least in important matches because we cannot change the nature or Climate.
This is all because CRICKET IS A PURELY UNPREDICTABLE GAME.......................
